Make Money Online: BuySellAds Advertisement Program

One of the great ways to make money online is by selling banner space on your blog, popularly known as banner advertising. If you have a fairly new blog and looking out for direct banner advertising will be difficult as you will need to have a big audience to get qualified advertisers.

BuySellAds popularly known as BSA is an Advertisement program network that helps online advertisers and website publishers buy and sell ads better. It was founded in February 2008 and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They have over 2900+ bloggers who are successfully using their services to power online sales.

Signing up with BuySellAds is a simple process, although you would have to wait for a while for their approval. Once approved , you would have to create ad zone of your choice which you would like to show on your blog from the following options:

Image Only (default)
Image + Text
Text + Description
Sponsored Tweet
RSS Feed

If you’re starting out with them, it would make sense to go with the default option of Image only. The next step would be to select the location of your advertisement (Top Left, Top Right, Top Center etc) and image size (125 x 125, 300 x 250, 728 x 90 etc)

You would also have to select the pricing that you would like to charge potential advertisers for placing an advertisement on your blog. If you’re new to this whole Advertisement program and have a new blog as well, a good bet would be to opt for the minimum price which is $10. As you progress, you can think of increasing the pricing.

BuySellAds is a revenue sharing site, they keep 25% of the amount earned with them. They pay via Paypal after you reach the Minimum cash out amount of $50

I am always looking for alternatives to AdSense and AdSense-like programs. This banner idea sounds great to me. What would “decent traffic” be exactly?

I think BSA consider page rank as an important factor. I have more than 250 UV’s each day but have a PR 0. So they are not approving my blog.

Mukundan Srinivasan May 4, 2011 at 18:02: No rojish PR is not required. If you see their directory u can see blog with PR0 but lots of impressions and ads being sold out. Don’t lose hope. Keep trying. Send a message to the support. They might help you.
