As part of building my niche site, one of the things that I’ve faced constantly is google dance. The past few months has been a huge learning curve in terms of off page and on page SEO. I’ve got to agree that getting a page to rank high in SERP’s is not a easy task. It requires a lot of patience and effort. Currently, the keyword I’m targeting ranks at position 11 (page 2 of SERP’s) and for a while it goes to position 10 (page 1) and flows back to position 11. There are times it also goes out of google SERP’s and then come backs to position 11, all this is a google dance and it keeps taking place when you build up a lot of backlinks.
So, what Exactly is Google Dance?
Google dance is a fluctuation in SERP’s that a new or existing site goes through. For a new site, the fluctuation is because of the reason that the google is figuring out where to place your new site. While, for an existing site – this seems to happen when you do a lot of SEO work in terms of backlinking. I’ve experienced that gaining too many links in too little a time leads to a lot of fluctuation in SERP’s.
Although nothing concrete can be said on how to avoid the fluctuations, one of the best known ways is to have a diverse backlink profile. You can build a diverse backlink profile by using the following methods:
Note – These are just few of the many methods you can follow, you can read how to build backlinks for more backlinking methods
I also wanted to inform you that I’ve followed the above including using a link magnet to build backlinks to my niche site and im still on position 11…still pursuing to solve the mystery behind high google ranking..hopefully the path will be shown to me someday.

It’s been a long time since I posted on this blog. I thought it would be good start by writing about a great plugin that can really help improve a blogs onsite SEO by the simple use of Semantics. I saw this plugin during one of my recent surfing sessions and decided to check it out. I installed this plugin on my blog and think that it’s really cool and can dramatically increase traffic to any blog without too much effort.
If you’re not aware of Semantics, check out my post on Importance of Semantics.
The SEO Search Terms Tagging 2 WordPress Plugin has many settings that I would not recommend using considering google panda. However, there is only one setting which really looks kick ass to help onpage seo, thereby increasing traffic to your blog.
Displaying incoming search terms linked to your blog posts from single post, you will strengthen the on page SEO of your blog pages, therefore your SERP will be better than before.
Displaying incoming search terms has the following advantages:
1) You can use this knowledge to solidify your page’s focus on a keyword by focusing on long tail and related keywords
2) Since the long tail and related keywords are already mentioned on your blog posts with the help of incoming search terms, you can expect some traffic as they’re already mentioned on your blog posts.
3) You can use these keywords as your anchor text during your backlinking efforts. It’s always important to vary your anchor text because it ensures that backlinking looks natural to google

How to Setup the SEO Search Terms 2 Tagging WordPress Plugin
I’ve given a screenshot of the settings I’ve used to setup this plugin. You can decide on the no. of search terms to include.
As you can see the only setting activated is – Add list automatically right after post content which is restricted to 25.
One more Interesting thing about this plugin that at the wordpress admin panel you can get a whole lot of details about incoming search terms, i.e you can get to know the keywords with which people enter your blog upto 500 visits.

This is just an update to one of my earlier posts on keyword research. I would like to bring up a point on referring to local monthly searches as this is huge mistake many can make (I just did for my niche site) while selecting your keywords/niche. If you’re looking at how to do keyword research, I suggest you read up on the below posts as the are comprehensive and will help you perform in depth keyword research:
Anyways, coming back to the point I would like to make with the local monthly searches..here is what I would like to share with you all:
As an example, I’m using the keyword “Briefcases” which has a lot of searches and a decent CPC
Firstly, always check the “Exact box” on the left of your screen to get an accurate figure of what you’re getting into. Secondly, Focus on the Local monthly searches of the keyword – as you can see the word “Briefcases” has around 4400 searches in the United States with a CPC of $1.61
Now, check this screenshot.. the difference is the location. I’ve changed the location to “India” and you can see that the local monthly searches and CPC has reduced drastically.
Pointers to Take Home from This:
1. Select “Exact Match” always
2. Do remember to check out the “local monthly searches” for the keyword you’re targeting and the relevant “CPC”
I’d be glad to hear on any points that you have on the mistakes we make during keyword research. Since, this is a basic fundamental step, it really is important that we dwelve into details before finalizing on your targeted keyword.

A DoFollow link is one that does not follow the NoFollow Attribute. Nofollow provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines “Don’t follow links on this page” or “Don’t follow this specific link.” and does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links.
If you’re using blog commenting as a link building strategy, you might be interested in knowing if the blogs your commenting on actually does dofollow your links. By default, all WordPress blogs automatically assigns the nofollow attribute to all user-submitted links (comment data, commenter URL, etc). The reason most webmasters choose to keep their blog as “nofollow” is because of the amount of Comment SPAM that can be generated once you switch over from this default WordPress attribute.
However, there are many bloggers that believe that they must give back to the commenter and make their blog dofollow. There are tools and google search operators you can use to find dofollow blogs. However, a good firefox addon to use is Nofollow.
It’s a simple extension that highlight links in a page according to nofollow / dofollow status. A nofollow link is highlighted in red color and nofollow in blue as you can see below:
After you install the addon, all you need to do to figure out the NoFollow and DoFollow links on any webpage is to right click and choose the NoDoFollow option in the pop-up. Choosing this option would highlight all the hyperlinks seen on the web page. The DoFollow hyperlinks shall be highlighted in BLUE while the NoFollow links would be shown in RED. This will easily help you figure out the status of any web page.

If you’ve been following my blog you would remember that I decided to move ahead with Google Adsense as part of my strategy to make money online i.e, build up Niche adsense sites to make a passive income online. In this process I’ve learnt the importance of taking a decision and sticking to it.
Just to give you a background, I started blogging in 2009 with this blog and after that have had 4 domain names that did end up as a failure..i tried clickbank products, being a webhosting affiliate and a random site that had topics on health, entertainment etc etc. Very recently , I did decide to go ahead with one route to make money online. Based on my personal experience, I would like to say that if you’re a newbie just getting into the Internet Marketing world, don’t fall for the fake products and tall claims that you can make money online with no effort at all. Just like any business in the real world, it takes time, effort and the right kind of strategy to make money online. Also, stick to one way of making money from the Internet..just my 2 cents.
Coming back, As a part of my efforts to rank high in SERP’s for my targeted keyword for my niche site, I’ve been trying numerous ways to build backlinks to my site. I would like to write on what I did last month and what i think worked for my niche site.
So, Here’s what I currently have
I have around 15 articles on my niche site and as a learning I decided to focus on building backlinks to my domain and a single post that is targeted on a keyword that has 5900 searches in a month (as per google adwords) and a CPC of $9.
I would also like to show you a screenshot from traffic travis of what my competition looks like, so that you can get an idea of what I’ve got into.
My niche post is currently ranking on 15th position (marked in red) for the targeted keyword in Google SERP’s. Although it’s not too bad for a site I registered around September mid.
And here’s what I did
As part of my backlinking efforts, I signed up for services link Article Ranks and SpinDistribute and did dwelve into forums and blog comments and article marketing. The results are here:
1) Article Ranks is a service that is a fully automated article marketing & article distribution service. For a submission of 1 article, i got around 12 backlinks .. which is not bad. I took an article from ezine articles and spun the content to almost 200% unique with Spinner Chief – a free spinner.
2) Spin Distribute says that they’ve distributed my article to around 50% of the 800 sites. As per their analysis, I should get about 800 backlinks to my one article. As per my analysis, I don’t even see one backlink to my site until now that is.
3) Submitted a unique article to Ezine Articles directory. This has been indexed and shows up in yahoo site explorer
4) Submitted articles to squidoo, hubpages, scribd and created web 2.0 blogs at blogster, blogspot and blog.com with a post relating to my niche and linking back to my site.
5) Submitted my post to Social Monkee. Yes, the free backlinking solution that earns me 100 free social bookmarks from each submission (I am a premium member, because I’ve referred 12+ members). I saw quite a few bookmarks indexed in Google, so that is going well.
6) Created around 5 forum profiles, now this generally does not work because a profile page is generally deep into the domain and I doubt it’ll ever get recognized. But yes, i did create my signature and tried to to reply to a few topics. The moderator removed the post and banned me the very next moment. I also experienced forums where you can use you’re signature only after you’ve reached a certain no. of posts. I am really not aware of that number and do not have the time to work on building it. My take home from this, if you find a high PR page ranking for a forum, sign up and then leave your comment. After around 15 days, go back create your signature and you should see it in your post. This will help you stay away from the moderators scanner. Yes, involves a lot of follow up and hard work. But then, who said things were easy ![]()
7) Now, comes the most interesting part.. i found a lot of blogs that had an extremely high PR (PR 7 in cases) to comment on. The interesting thing was that these PR blogs not only had high PR in their domain but also the same followed on their interior pages.. which was good news.
Now the trick here is to leave interesting comments which takes a lot of time as you have to read each and every post… but it’s worth the effort. I got around 90 backlinks indexed in yahoo site explorer right after commenting on these high PR blogs.. which is something im looking forward to. Now, I will have to follow up and see if these comments stick and I get the benefits.
It was interesting to read my earlier post on Is Blog Commenting a link Building Strategy. It only shows how experience changes views and opinions.
Suggested Read -> How to Build Backlinks To Your Site
So here’s what I’ve done over the last one month.. I’ve not made a cent yet from my niche blog and it gets around 6-7 visits a day.
I Will appreciate your inputs and remember that conversation and debate is what triggers your mind to think out of the box. Do shout out and let me know what you think I can do better to make my niche blog a success

Today im a bit nostalgic about my blogging journey and thought that it’s a good time to write about what I’ve experienced as a part time blogger. The interesting part about my whole blogging journey is that it begun in 2009 purely out of reason for making money online. I’ve not found success either in blogging or Internet marketing which most people have over a period of time – and I guess this is due to lack of commitment from my end and clarity on what exactly I would like to have from my internet business.
However, I’m over all that after a long run though and have finally decided to go ahead with building small niche websites and using google adsense as a monetization strategy. I plan to use this blog of mine of sharing my journey and experiences on building niche adsense websites. So, now you know what kind of posts you will expect in future from me.
Another reason that I had quit writing posts on this blog was because my posts were really very common and I felt that they really did not add any value to the blogosphere. I’ve always believed that it’s better to try, implement and then share your experiences. I guess most bloggers in the making money online niche only end up sharing information which they have not tried or implemented.
Just to update, you guys – off late I’ve been very busy trying to set up my first Adsense Niche sites which has a pretty good traffic with a good CPC above $5. I’m currently in the process of writing posts (although i would love to buy articles, if I had the money
) on my new niche website and building backlinks with all the methods that I’ve learnt till date.
Most of you might say that Niche website is a thing of the past after the Google panda update, but i believe that there’s lot of opportunity left and i’m looking at eating a small share in the pie.

If you’re an internet marketer and are on a web hosting plan that allows you to add multiple domain names, you might have come across a time when you needed to add a new domain onto your current hosting plan and you did not know how to go about the process. This generally tends to happens when you do not work on your webhosting cpanel for quite some time. I recently went through this situation and it took me quite a while to figure out how to add a domain name to your webhosting.
3 Steps to Add Domain to your WebHosting
Step 1 -> Login to yourWeb Hosting Cpanel
Step 2-> You should scroll down to the domain area and select Add on Domains
Step 3 -> In the below screen enter the below details and click on add domain
That’s it once you’re done with these steps, you’ve added your new domain name to your current webhosting. After this, you will need to change the Domain name servers to have the domain hosted from your current webosting.

Google Plus is a new social media site that is directly tied into the most widely-used search engine on the planet, with looming search engine optimization (SEO) implications. If you care about your online reputation-what consumers are saying and where they are saying it-you need to learn how to utilize Google Plus for your online business.
The idea behind Google Plus is simple
The idea behind +1 is a simple one. In search results and, later, directly on websites, searchers will be able to up-vote search results they like. These sites will be book marked on your profi le page. When the same site appears in the search results of a friend, a tag will appear underneath the snippet indicating that you liked it. Google will show you +1′s from your contacts in Gmail, Buzz, and Google Reader.
How is Google Plus+ different
Sometimes it is not relevant to talk about certain things with certain people. For example, you would not want your personal plans shared with your business acquaintances. With Google Plus, you can assign people “roles” and categorize them so that you are sharing the most appropriate and relevant information. With Google Plus, you can be a part of a community and rely on personal connections and the people that are close to you.
Can Google Plus+ takeover Facebook?
Facebook de-throned MySpace? Many are predicting that it could de-throne Facebook the same way that Facebook de-throned MySpace. It may be too early for such lofty predictions, but it is clear that Google+ is already starting to gain notice, and it has the potential to be a powerful player in social media.

It is important to understand that search engines note the IP from which a website is hosted when reviewing a link. This is done in large part to detect link manipulation patterns. Too many links from a single IP is an indicator that all those sites have the same owner. To help prevent link farms, search engines have been known to discount links from the same IP address.
So when you get a link from a particular site, it is assigned a particular IP address. If you get a link from A website, let us say it sends you 80 units of link juice. The next link you get from that IP may only send 20, and the next 10, and the next 5, then 2, then 1, then 0.5, and so on. These are estimated numbers, but help explain the concept Below is a graph that explains this better:
So Why Does This Matter?
This will help you re consider your link building methods. If you are using a method that gets links from the same places over and over again, they will begin to get discounted . For example, the first few articles you publish in a article directory will carry some weight, but those links will get less and less effective with each new article. Your authority growth will stagnate if you do not diversify your link sources though. This is why you should not simply use the same link building methods continuously.

So, if you want to run 10-15 websites and think that it will help linking those sites together. It won’t until you get 4-5 different web hosts as they all will have different IP classes. So, the conclusion is that backlinks from 5 blogs on 5 different hosts is worth more than 5 blogs on the same host!

In my earlier post Link Building: Unique Content Link Push, we discussed what a great method it was to build powerful backlinks to your site or internal pages within your site.
Let’s take a scenario wherein you’re interested to build a 5X5 UC push to an internal page of your site, you would actually need 30 articles(5 1st tier + 25 2nd tier) to do that. Doing this kind of work manually in terms of writing articles will take a lot of time and effort from your end.
So the solution here is to use article spinning.
What exactly is Article spinning?
Article Spinning is a search engine optimization technique by which blog or website owners post a unique version of relevant content on their sites. It works by rewriting existing articles, or parts of articles, and replacing elements to provide a slightly different perspective on the topic.
How to do Article Spinning?
Yo may hire a person to do article spinning or you may use the automated software’s which will automatically replace words or phrases in articles. Automatic rewriting can change the meaning of a sentence through the use of words with similar but subtly different meaning to the original. Automatic rewriting can change the meaning of a sentence through the use of words with similar but subtly different meaning to the original. This is done with the use of a inbuilt thesaurus in the automated software’s generally known as article spinners.
